Fire Procedure

Evacuation Routes

There are two evacuation routes from the studio:

• Main stair exit

• Alternative stair exit

Teachers using the studio are familiar with both evacuation routes and can guide members if needed.

If You Discover a Fire

If you discover a fire in the building:

1. Raise the alarm immediately by shouting “FIRE, FIRE, FIRE.”

2. Ensure the warning is repeated throughout the building.

3. Activate the nearest fire alarm call point if available.

4. Leave the building immediately via the nearest safe exit.

5. Close doors behind you where possible.

6. Proceed directly to the assembly point outside the building.

7. Do not stop to collect belongings.

8. Do not re-enter the building until authorised by The Nest staff or the Fire Brigade.

If You Hear the Fire Alarm

If the alarm sounds:

1. Stop what you are doing immediately.

2. Leave the building calmly and quickly.

3. Use the nearest available exit.

4. Proceed directly to the assembly point outside the building.

5. Do not re-enter the building until authorised by The Nest staff or the Fire Brigade.
