Vicki

My name is Vicki and I am the co-owner of The Nest and I teach and over see all the main stream Yoga Classes here at the studio (Vinyasa Flow Classes, Restorative Classes, Yin Yoga, Men’s Yoga, Pilates and Power Yoga classes).

Go with the flow is one of my many mantras and one of the main reasons I love teaching Vinyasa Flow Yoga as this style of yoga allows you to do exactly that , every class is different, and we just allow our bodies to open and move. Once you allow yourself to go with the flow of yoga (and in life) you realise that no other force is required.

I have been teaching yoga classes full time for 8 years, completing my initial 200 hours teacher training in beautiful India (the motherland) at Sampoorna Yoga School in 2016 and 2018 and have since taught 1,000 of hours of classes and workshops.

The aim of my classes is for everyone to access the many rewards that yoga can offer them but with a relaxed and fun approach. You’ll be met with nothing but a friendly and encouraging atmosphere.

Sophie

Hey I’m Sophie & I very much look forward to stretching and flowing with you bright and early on Saturday’s- what a great way to start the weekend!

I’m an avid enthusiast of both Yin and Yang styles of yoga.

Meaning, that I love to practice and to teach a class which incorporates a hearty Vinyasa flow to build strength and confidence but also to balance that out and wind down with some longer hold stretches and a focus on listening to what the body needs that day. We will build strength and resilience in both our bodies and minds with strong and sometimes challenging postures, learning to sit in the uncomfortable- as that’s usually the space where growth develops.

I am a very informal character and I like my classes to be fun and interesting, so even though over time we will build on certain poses, expect a different class every time.

I’ve seen people increase their strength and mobility quickly in my classes (with regular commitment) and I’ve found a purpose in helping to encourage and support others with their developments.

On a personal note, I’ve found that yoga has given me a huge amount confidence and enhances my life daily in many ways.

Hayley

Hi I am Hayley and I teach Pilates & Sculpt ( A Nest Signature) Class.

I’m a mum of two, and a Certified Coach and Pilates Instructor. Originally from a dance background, I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Dance Education from the Royal Academy of Dance in 2015, before taking a career break to have children. Following the birth of my daughter in 2018, I was diagnosed with postnatal depression; and so I began my journey to wellness in body, mind and spirit. It’s been so transformational for me!

I trained as a Pilates Instructor and Certified Life Coach, and founded Slo Living, a company supporting fellow mums in their journeys out of burnout and overwhelm and into radical wellness. After finding more of myself in mindfulness and movement practices, I am now wanting to share this with you and so I am so excited to be teaching at The Nest and passing on my passion in what I do to you.

Ashley

Hi I’m Ashley Thornton-Higgs, I am a Mother, I am a Cacaoista, a shamanic space holder, I am a lover of the moon and infatuated with Mushrooms.

I am a certified Cacaoista, trained with Rebekah Shaman, attaining the knowledge & skills to provide Shamanic Journeys to help shift consciousness with plant medicines. Cacao is a beautiful plant medicine, that has health and psychological wellbeing benefits, allowing us to reconnect with our hearts, helps us clear any emotional blockages that no longer serves us and helps us forgive ourselves and others. I only stock/use ethnically sourced, organic, ceremonial grade cacao from Ritual Cacao.

Astrology and lunar cycles is something I have been living by for many years now, I would like to help support others in reconnecting with these cycles to be in tune with oneself and Mother Nature, this is the natural rhythm of life.

I also talk at events about medicinal mushrooms, how medicinal mushrooms can help our bodies to be the best they can. I forage, I grow and I’m in touch with the mushroom world. I’m here to spread the word about fungi and what wonders they can do for our world

I am here to facilitate your journey to connect back to oneself and Mother Earth through plant medicines.

I teach the full moon cacao journeys and feminine retreats at The Nest.

Adam

Hi everyone, I'm Adam and I'm a SOMA Breath Breathwork instructor and cold water exposure coach.

I have spent my working life in the motor trade since I left school, taking on various roles from dealerships to manufacturing. Working hard to get to the top, I always had my heart set on getting there and becoming a service manager of a main dealer. When I finally achieved what I thought was my career goal of becoming service manager and after 5 years of practicing breathwork, I decided to give my goal up to become a SOMA Breath breathwork instructor and cold water exposure coach.

Now, feeling fully aligned and energised, I have clarity and focus, I have direction, I have a new found confidence and I have truly found my purpose!

I love my life and my goal now is to help as many people as possible to become aware of and understand what we, as humans can achieve with our own breath and pushing ourselves beyond our comfort zones.

We are our own pharmacy and capable of so much!

Emily

Hi I’m Emily  – Medical Herbalist BSc (Hons) MIMH, Clinical Aromatherapist MIFPA

I'm a Medical Herbalist, Clinical Aromatherapist and Massage Therapist. I have been following my plant path for around 24 years. I run my clinical practice and therapeutic treatment space from a room in my garden. I make a range of herbal teas, vinegars, oxymels, tinctures and body products in my herbal apothecary at Sulis Botanicals.

Plant medicine uses whole plant extracts such as roots, leaves, berries, seeds and aerial parts, which contain various constituents to support the body in healing itself. The use of herbs as medicine to treat ailments is common to all cultures worldwide and has been for millennia. Western herbal medicine is both an ancient and modern medicine as it draws upon the historic traditional use of plants. It is supported by current scientific studies for its efficacy in treating many complex illnesses.

Health is a harmonisation of mind, body, and spiritual balance, and herbalists believe that cannot be attained by focusing only on symptom relief.

I am here to immerse you into the world of medicinal plants, and along the way, I will take you on a journey through folklore, wisdom, magic and creation with sustainability at heart. I cant wait to offer talks, herbal walks and workshops here at The Nest.
